The Listed Debuts in Indiana: Celebrating the People and Technologies Transforming Sport

Sports innovation has its power players—and now, they’re recognized. The global sports technology community gathered at the Bottleworks Hotel in Indianapolis for the launch of The Listed: Tech Charged and In Charge, powered by Sports Tech HQ.

Hosted in partnership with The STA Group, the gathering coincided with the first-ever TEDSports conference in Indianapolis, adding fresh energy to a week filled with big ideas, networking, and forward-looking conversations.

A Morning of Ideas and Impact

Leaders, investors, innovators, and visionaries came together to celebrate the people and technologies shaping the future of sports. Guests were welcomed with remarks from Rebecca Hopkins, CEO of The STA Group, and Jeff Hintz, Executive Director of Sports Tech HQ, both underscoring the importance of recognizing those driving sports innovation not just in Indianapolis, but across the globe.

“Sport’s future is being written by people who see possibilities others miss,” said Rebecca Hopkins, CEO of The STA Group. “The Listed is about identifying those individuals and technologies and giving them the recognition their influence deserves. It’s not about titles, but about impact.”

The program continued with a thoughtful Q&A moderated by Rebecca Hopkins and featuring Rich Felton Thomas, COO and Director of Sport Science at ai.io, before turning to the highlight of the morning: the reveal of The Listed honorees.

Honoring the Changemakers

The Listed celebrates two categories: In Charge, spotlighting individuals leading transformation in sport, and Tech Charged, recognizing the technologies redefining how we play, watch, and experience it.

This year’s honorees include visionaries such as Cathy Engelbert (WNBA), Kate Johnson (Google), and Marissa Andretti (Andretti Global), as well as transformative technologies like Oura, Hudl, Therabody, and ShotTracker. From the boardroom to the training ground, these honorees represent the bold ideas and real-world solutions fueling sport’s next chapter.

“Indianapolis has always been a city where sport and innovation meet, and Sports Tech HQ exists to make sure that legacy drives the next generation of growth,” said Jeff Hintz, Executive Director of Sports Tech HQ. “Recognizing the people and brands who are shaping sport’s future aligns perfectly with our mission to position Indianapolis, and the wider US, as a global center for sports innovation.”
